MetLife to Deliver New Digital Experience for Small Business Customers with IBM Insurance Platform
We know small businesses and brokers have a lot on their plate — they’re focused on growth, while also trying to keep operating costs low and processes simple. They know how important employee benefits are in attracting and retaining great talent, but are concerned that the cost of managing a group benefits program is too high.
After speaking with many small businesses and brokers across the U.S., we understood their need for greater flexibility, simplicity and value when working with us, and set out to directly address this challenge.
In collaboration with IBM and Majesco, we’re creating a digital experience that will streamline benefits management for our small business customers and improve the servicing experience for their employees. In this first-of-its-kind platform, MetLife will be able to administer, service and maintain small business insurance policies on IBM’s cognitive cloud. Employers and brokers will gain access to a simple and convenient dashboard to help them:
- Understand different benefit options and rates for employees
- Select benefits packages that fit their needs
- Manage important tasks, from policy administration to renewal timelines, to quotes and claims
- Get improved processing times for service requests and real-time communication with the help of artificial intelligence

MetLife is working toward the goal of offering the new IBM Insurance platform to customers and brokers in late 2018.
